Works That Define Me!

Okay, I know, I'm not all that ~motion designer~, but I enjoyed doing poster work as well. Below are three major examples of work I've done for the past year that I feel most like me. I had incredibly so much fun doing it, and this is how I.... started... to.... love... type. GASP!

This was just 1/2 of the wedding gift for a friend. He wanted an awesomely bad, cheesy poster to display during the ceremony, so I went beyond that. Fighting men in outer space to save an ancient princess? Sickkk!! I couldn't resist putting the car-chasing part as well. I loved how it turned out!! I love vintage, and retro art so much and this is a total icing on the cake.

See, the Amnesty International Malaysia wanted one submission for their human rights poster competition. I had to send in eight. HAD TO. I didn't win, of course, and most of the works I did were all typography based. I love letterpress style, and I wanted to try faking it via Adobe (Thanks guys!). I liked how that turned out as well. Letterpress is yes for me.

Last, we have this. These words mean "Happy Birthday" in Turkish, and I don't speak even close to, well, Turkish. But since their language is written in Roman form, I thought I could mess around a little around the canvas. This is a great sample on my love on experimental typography, and though the Turkish man went to fall off the face of the earth, I am more than proud over this baby.

So there you go! Modest, but straight forward samples of my portfolio which speaks my personality in volumes. I like it vintage, old school, retro, fun, cheesy and then... typography. I might upload more stuff soon for my identity reference, but feel free to visit ummi.tv to see more of my style to understand it!
